    The Luverne Redbirds won two games last week, beating Lakefield 10-0 Wednesday, June 5, at home and Hadley 5-3 Sunday, June 9, on the road.     The Luverne Junior Legion baseball team hosted a six-team, two-pool tournament Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, at Redbird Field. Luverne ended the tournament in first place, taking down Madison 11-5 June 7, New Ulm 16-6 and St. James 8-3, both on June 8.     The Luverne Senior Legion baseball team beat Windom 11-5 in their first game of the season Monday, June 10, on the road. Alex Schlosser led Luverne with four hits in four at bats and had three RBIs. Schlosser singled in the first inning, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth and doubled in the seventh.     The Luverne High School softball players ended their postseason run, falling twice in section play Tuesday, May 28, in Marshall. The Cardinals fell to Dassel-Cokato 6-2 in the semifinals and lost 3-0 to Jackson in the elimination round later that night. LHS finished the season with an 18-7 record.     The Cardinals ended their postseason baseball run this week, falling to Montevideo 1-0 Saturday, June 1, and 4-3 to Fairmont Monday, June 3, in Marshall.     Luverne native Carly Olson was named to the 2024 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) All-Conference team. Olson, in her freshman year at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, batted in the No. 5 spot all season, started in all 42 of the Gusties’ games between catcher and third base.
