Coaches and players from Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota state champion football teams met at the Tri-State Marker in the southwest corner of Rock County Thursday, Dec. 4, to congratulate each other on their winning seasons. 

As Minnesotans reacquaint themselves with the winter chore of clearing sidewalks and driveways, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency urges people to remember smart salting practices.

December is Seasonal Affective Disorder Awareness Month which calls attention to a winter depression condition now known as Seasonal Depression.

It was Christmas 1967, or maybe '68. My four-year-old eyes were wide with wonder as I cradled the new Christmas doll. 

There are only about three weeks left in the 2025 pheasant hunting season, and due to some mobility issues, I haven’t hunted once this season.

However, I have hunted vicariously through other hunters’ Facebook posts and watching YouTube videos.

 As soon as Thanksgiving has come and gone, it is the Christmas shuffle that creeps up on me. I do not wait until the last day or two, but I am never way ahead of time.

•Complainant on N. East Park Street and Bishop Street reported an accident with property damage.

•Complainant on 190th Avenue and 41st Street near Kanaranzi reported an accident with property damage.

These two were fighting a losing battle Saturday as they tried to keep up with falling snow on Main Street in Luverne.
