    The Luverne Redbirds beat Worthington 8-1 on the road Wednesday, June 12, got by Windom 4-1 on the road Friday, June 14, and blanked Pipestone 12-0 at home on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, to improve their season record to 9-1. The Redbirds are scheduled to play two games on the road next week. Luverne travels to Litchfield Saturday, June 22, and will host Heron Lake Wednesday, June 26.  …

    Luverne’s Owen Sudenga finished the 2024 MSHSL Class AA boys’ individual state golf tournament in 26th place Wednesday, June 12. The tournament was played at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.     On Wednesday, June 12, Brady Bork got his first hole-in-one at the Luverne Country Club on hole No. 3. Bork used a seven iron from 170 yards to the hole for the ace. “After seeing a lot of my shots get close over the years, it didn’t seem real that one finally went in,” Bork said. His dad, Randy Bork, witnessed the shot and video-recorded retrieving the ball from the cup.

    Luverne native Carly Olson was named to the 2024 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) All-Conference team.
