    The Luverne Country Club hosted its annual Women’s Memorial Golf Tournament Saturday. The two-person best ball tournament attracted 32 golfers to the local course.     The Luverne VFW baseball team opened the 2016 campaign in fine fashion by winning their home Buffalo Days tournament over the weekend.     The Luverne Baseball Association hosted its annual Buffalo Days youth baseball tournament June 5-7. A total of 48 teams from across the area participated in the tournament, which was sponsored by the Bluestem.  In all, 90 total games were played on fields around Luverne over three days.  Six local teams competed in five different divisions in their hometown tournament.     The Luverne High School tennis team met some very stiff competition at the state team tennis tournament in Minneapolis June 2.     The 2015 golf season came to an end for the Luverne Cardinals during the second round of the Section 3AA Tournament staged at the Oakdale Golf Course near Buffalo Lake.
