The Rock County Star Herald brought home nine awards from the 2026 Minnesota Newspaper Association Annual Convention, topping seven awards from last year’s event.

Meetings

Beaver Creek Township Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, in the township hall.

Vienna Township Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Kenneth Community Room.

In the story “New Hills Chamber seeks information from city” in the Jan. 30 Star Herald, the wrong first name was used to identified Kate DeBoer along with the name of her business in Hills. She owns Erwin’s Towing.

LHS seniors Hannah Kempema and Tyler Hodge were chosen Monday afternoon in the school’s performing arts center to serve as the school’s Snow Week queen and king respectively.

The Luverne boys’ hockey team sits atop the Big South Conference with a 20-3 record after taking down three competitors this past week.

The H-BC boys’ basketball team took down three conference rivals and improved its season record to 17-1 in the past week.
