    The Luverne Redbirds beat Worthington 8-1 on the road Wednesday, June 12, got by Windom 4-1 on the road Friday, June 14, and blanked Pipestone 12-0 at home on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, to improve their season record to 9-1. The Redbirds are scheduled to play two games on the road next week. Luverne travels to Litchfield Saturday, June 22, and will host Heron Lake Wednesday, June 26.  …

Luverne’s game against Minneota at home Monday, June 17, was canceled due to rain.     On Wednesday, June 12, Brady Bork got his first hole-in-one at the Luverne Country Club on hole No. 3. Bork used a seven iron from 170 yards to the hole for the ace. “After seeing a lot of my shots get close over the years, it didn’t seem real that one finally went in,” Bork said. His dad, Randy Bork, witnessed the shot and video-recorded retrieving the ball from the cup.

    The Luverne High School softball players ended their postseason run, falling twice in section play Tuesday, May 28, in Marshall. The Cardinals fell to Dassel-Cokato 6-2 in the semifinals and lost 3-0 to Jackson in the elimination round later that night. LHS finished the season with an 18-7 record.
