10 years ago (2005)
•Corn and soybean yield reports for 2005 in Rock County and across southwest Minnesota were among the best ever. There have been many “weigh-wagon” yield reports well over 200 bushels per acre for corn, and above 60 bushels per acre for soybeans. These yields are more typical of Illinois and Indiana than in southwest Minnesota.

•Corn producers and other interested investors will meet tonight with planners of a proposed $25 million ethanol plant in Luverne. ...
If enough local support is found for the project, the 15-million-gallon dry-mill ethanol plant will begin construction next summer and be completed the following summer of 1997.

The new truck is the product of the Luverne Automobile company’s factory and is of the latest and most up to date design for fire fighting purposes.
