Mary Jorgenson Edmundson passed away on Nov. 20, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona. To the end she exhibited her faith, generosity and unwavering love for her family. She was always available to provide hospitality and friendship to all who she encountered.

 Jeffrey Karl Wollman was born on Nov. 12, 1960, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Aaron “Lloyd” and Darlene (Herrboldt) Wollman. He was raised in Springfield, South Dakota, where he spent much of his youth helping at his parents’ bar, “The Tap.”

Dorothy Rosenberg, age 97, of Luverne, Minnesota, died on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society - Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. 

Joe Olsrud

Joe Olsrud, age 88, of Luverne, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hartquist Funeral Home in Luverne. 

Easter is more than chocolate bunnies

April is one of the best months of the year. Winter is essentially over, except for maybe a few snow showers, and the heat of summer has not yet arrived. It’s that time of the year when we can take time to sit back and contemplate the future and revel in the past.

Patriots crowned state champions

The Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots collected their first-ever boys’ state basketball championship beating three solid teams in the tournament March 26-28 in Minneapolis.

H-BC came into the tournament as the fifth seed and left as the state champion in Class A action.

Cardinal softball team opens season with win

The Luverne girls’ softball team opened the season with a win Monday.

The Cardinals closed the game with the 10-run rule after the fifth inning beating the Dragons 15-5 at home.

The game was scheduled to be played March 31 but was moved up due to weather.
