Vienna Township Board will NOT meet in the month of May. The next meeting is June 9. 

Luverne will have its first-ever entertainment wrestling event Saturday at The Lake in Luverne. 

“New Sound Wrestling, the Final Countdown to Summer Break,” will be at the beach from 4 to 6 p.m. 

Question: In my community and on my daily commute I encounter two roundabouts each morning, others that I work with will encounter three roundabouts in less than five minutes. Please use your platform to remind drivers how to safely and properly use a roundabout. 

During Mental Health Awareness Month, Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation is encouraging conversations around mental health in agriculture and reminding farmers that support, and resources are available. 

As the child of a farmer, wife of a farmer and mother of a farmer, this week’s Farm Bureau editorial content resonated with me. 

Area fire and rescue crews responded to a fire Tuesday afternoon at 1518 110th Avenue northwest of Luverne. Numerous water trucks delivered additional water as firemen battled blazes in 22 mph winds. A structure was on fire, as was a hay pile and a nearby silage pile.

The Luverne Redbirds opened their 2026 Minnesota Baseball Association (MBA) campaign taking down the Lakefield Horned Frogs 12-2 Sunday, May 9, at home.

Minnesota voters serving in the military or living overseas can still vote from anywhere in the world through UOCAVA voting. UOCAVA stands for the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act. 

Luverne girls’ track team captured the Big South Small School Conference Title Thursday, May 7, in Luverne.

LHS edged out six other teams in 18 events for top team honors.
