The Cardinals were paced by Hartquist, who shot a round of 75 to claim medalist honors for the meet.
“Henry played a solid round overall,” said Cardinal boys’ coach John Sichmeller.
“His round was starting to slip away, but he hit a couple of clutch putts late in the round to save himself. This was a really good field of players and to come out on top as the individual champion should give Henry a lot of confidence as we get close to playoff time.”
Bork also played well for the Cardinals with a 79 to claim fifth place. Arends and Sudenga fired a pair of 91s to contribute to the team score for Luverne. Schoeneman (95) and Gonnerman (99) also competed for the Cardinals.

“It was nice to play in decent weather today. We struggled a bit with getting the speed of the greens down,” said Luverne girls’ golf coach Chris Nowatzki.
“We are hoping to iron out a few kinks this week as we prepare for some big events coming up. There’s a lot of potential in this group and I’m eager to see how they respond.”
