    Thirty-five athletes participated in the 9th Annual Davis Lake Triathlon July 4 at The Lake, aka The Creamery Pond in Luverne. Competition began at 8:30 a.m. with the Minnow Race.     The Luverne Senior Legion baseball team beat Windom 9-3 on the road Tuesday, July 1. Luverne had a game scheduled against Colton Monday, July 7, but that game was called after the first two batters due to weather in Luverne.         The Luverne Softball Association hosted the 2025 Bash-A-Rama tournament June 28-29 in Luverne. Thirty-two area teams participated in the two-day event at Joe Roberts and Riverside East diamonds.     The Luverne Junior Legion 9 and 10 teams played a double-header against Pipestone Monday, June 30, at Redbird Field.     Six Luverne baseball players were named to the 2025 Big South All-Conference team. All-Conference honors went to seniors Carter Sehr and Layke Miller and juniors Blake Sauer and Jaxon Lais. Honorable mention players are senior Alex Schlosser and junior Maddux Domagala. All six players were a big part of the team’s 2025 fifth place finish at this year’s MSHSL Baseball State Tournament.

    Senior Alex Schlosser was named to the 2025 State All-Tournament Team and senior Carter Sehr was named to the 2025 South All-Star Team and the 2025 Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State Team. Sehr took part in the All-Star activities Thursday, June 19, at Chaska Athletic Park. The South All-Stars team played June 20 and 21 against other All-Star teams.
