Over 60 people gathered at the Rock County Library in Luverne Thursday night for a public town hall meeting with Dist. 1 Congressional candidate Jake Johnson, Stewartville. 

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) announced this week that Feikema Farms, Inc. near Luverne is a 2026 Environmental Stewardship Award Program (ESAP) Regional winner. 

The League of Minnesota Cities has recognized 23 state lawmakers, including Sen. Bill Weber (R-Luverne), as 2026 Legislators of Distinction. 

As part of Beaver Days activities Saturday, a history presentation featured “Jacob’s Ice Barn,” which served as refrigeration to homeowners and businesses in the early 20th century. 

We said goodbye last month to our beloved Chance, who was such a good boy — the best of all good boys among dogs. And he made us better human beings after showing what true love, loyalty and devotion look like.

Luverne has been my summer home for many years. My wife was born and raised here. 

I’ve been very dismayed that Luverne now has five marijuana dispensaries, only one liquor store, and no diner where one can buy a traditional breakfast. 

Question: I saw your last article was about stopping. With school just around the corner, can you talk about stopping for the school bus?
