Three boys will play LHS baseball

Hills-Beaver Creek athletes Adam Finke (left), Zach Wysong (middle) and Aaron Esselink (right) are members of the Luverne High School baseball program.By John RittenhouseThree Hills-Beaver Creek High School athletes have made commitments to play baseball in Luverne in 2004.Junior Zach Wysong and freshmen Adam Finke and Aaron Esselink are the H-BC students traveling to Luverne to play baseball this spring.Finke and Esselink will be members of the B squad team.Wysong will be a second-year starter and a key contributor for the 2004 varsity squad.Luverne coach Mike Wenninger said Wysong will start at shortstop for LHS for the second straight year, and he’s expected to assume more responsibility as a pitcher.Wysong and the Cardinals are coming off a 16-11 2003 season, which featured a Section 3AA championship and a trip to the state tournament.Wysong is one of five starters returning from the 2003 team.Luverne opens the 2004 campaign Friday in Lamberton.
