Ben Nath won the Men’s Club Championship Aug. 19-20 and Melissa Sandbulte won the Women’s Club Championship on Aug. 22 during their respective 2023 events at the Luverne Country Club.
Nath won the Men’s Club Championship for the fourth year in a row with a low gross score of 151 in the two-day, 36-hole tournament Aug. 19-20.
Andrew DeBoer placed second in the champions’ bracket with a score of 164, and Coy Gonnerman took third with a score of 166.
Nath said the tournament was a good experience, thanks to all involved in hosting it.
“I would like to thank the grounds crew for preparing the course for the tournament, the club house staff for the great service, and the board and others involved for helping put on a fun tournament this year,” he said.
In the President’s bracket Gaige Nath finished first with a low gross score of 174.
Eric Lammert finished behind Nath with a 175, and Aaron Moerke followed with a 176 for third place.
Flight winners were as follows:
In Flight 1, Nathan Nekali and Tom Kopp tied at 176; Nekali took top honors after a short playoff.
Dan Kern placed third with a score of 177.
In Flight 2, Mike Wenninger finished with a 181, and Devin Heitkamp tied with Gary Kurtz with a 187.
In Flight 3, Dave Gangestad led with a 184 followed by Tony Sandbulte with a 185 and Jeff Stratton with a 190.
In Flight 4, Brady Dinger placed first with a 197, and Brian Boll finished second with a 201.

In the Women’s Club Championship Tuesday, Aug. 22, Melissa Sandbulte was crowned the Club Champion.
Sandbulte shot a low-gross score of 78 in the two-day, 18-hole tournament.
Mary Jo Graphenteen placed second with a score of 79, and Paula Lammert placed third with a 91.
In the President’s Bracket Sharla Reisch finished in first place with a score of 102, Colleen Nath placed second with a 106 and Staci Busse-Remme took third with a score of 112.
Flight winners were as follows:
In Flight 1, Susan Schneekloth and Joan Kindt both finished with a final score of 98.
Schneekloth was awarded first place using the scorecard handicap to break the tie.
Kindt placed second and Tracy Hansen placed third with a 99.
In Flight 2, Dana Klay and Abbey Behr both finished the tournament with a score of 111, and Klay took first after the scoreboard handicap determined the winner.
Hailey Nath took third place with a final score of 115.
