Mom knows best, because she always thinks I’m rightLast Mother’s Day I gave my mom the best gift I could — I wrote a tribute to her, putting in writing what speaking sometimes just can’t convey. The woman whom I’ve seen cry really only at funerals actually teared up when she read it. Sunday is Mother’s Day and other moms deserve to hear nice things about themselves, too.I asked around, and here’s what some people told me about their moms:As a child I felt very safe because my stay-at-home-mom was always there. She’s special to me because of her kindness and patience. Even at a young age I knew that her love and support were helping me to grow. I can't imagine growing up any other way.NicoleEven when you are "dead wrong," your mother believes that you are right. Mothers look through different colored glasses at their children!BobI think nice things about my mom every day. … Sometimes I vaguely remember the times when I wanted to be the opposite of everything she was. Now, I hope for nothing less than for people’s comments like, "You’re going to be just like your mother," to come true.SaraMy mom used to practice gymnastics with me and could do a cartwheel well into her 40s. I used to think that was weird; now I understand how unique that is.AprilThe older I get, the smarter my mom gets. Or, I just finally realize she’s smarter now that I figured out I don't know everything. Mom really does know best.TamaraMom gives the best advice. She always told me, "You can love a rich man just as well as a poor man. But if you can’t find a rich man, find a poor man who can fix cars because at least you’ll save some money!"JennyI couldn’t find a bigger cheerleader or supporter no matter what direction I chose; Mom was always there, even if the path wasn’t the right one. She shows unconditional love for her children.KyleBecause of Mom, I grew up believing I could do or be anything I wanted in life — what a great thing to teach a kid. … She also told me if I put a big smile on my face, no one would notice the big zit on my chin. Mom’s so smart.LoriMy mom went through hell and back many times in her lifetime, before she had us kids and after, and never once did she complain about the hardships. It still blows me away everyday how she can always be in a good mood and always look at the bright side of things. I wish I could be exactly like her in that way.Sue
