The Psalm for today (Nov. 11) is Psalm 27. The Psalmist is sharing his hope in God even in the midst of trouble.Having a good attitude and a positive approach is so important in the living of these days.Many people today are concerned about the increase in energy costs, taxes and other expenses. It can be a downer to listen to some talk about their woes.An enthusiastic young couple who had suffered one financial difficulty after another eventually became quite depressed over their seemingly unending hardships. On the day of their third wedding anniversary, her husband decided to serve his wife breakfast in bed. Along with an excellently prepared breakfast, the tray contained a flower from the garden and a hand-drawn card which read: "Happy Anniversary, honey. In lieu of a gift, contributions have been made in your name to the electric company, the gas company, the phone company and the local government."Life has its periods of hardships for all of us. Don’t let those times steal your sense of humor and your determination to celebrate the good parts of life with those you love. That is the best gift you can give them and those around you.
