Patriots roll to win in Westbrook Friday

By John RittenhouseThe Hills-Beaver Creek boys raised their Red Rock Conference record to 6-3 with a convincing win in Westbrook Friday.The Patriots coasted to an 18-point lead in the first half and led by 20 points after three quarters before settling for a 62-52 victory over the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers.H-BC dominated the game statistically and it showed in the first half, when it sported 21-8 and 39-21 leads at the opening quarter breaks.The Patriots led 52-32 heading into the fourth quarter when W-WG used a 20-10 scoring cushion to trim the final margin of victory to 10 points.H-BC, which made 48 percent of its field goals and outrebounded W-WG 37-24 in the game, received a 15-point, six-rebound, three-assist effort from Zach Wysong.Kale Wiertzema scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and led the Patriots with seven assists.Tom LeBoutillier made seven of nine field goals and scored 14 points for the winners.
