Six Luverne boys’ hockey players and one girls’ basketball player received Big South All-Conference honors.

Seniors Jaxon Lais, Landyn Lais and Maddux Domagala along with junior Ben Hartquist were named to the Big South All-Conference team.

Armory reonvation contractor past due, accrues $500-per-day penalties

Renovation work is continuing on the former National Guard Armory building on Freeman Avenue in Luverne — months past the promised completion date. 

This means the contractor working on the project is now in “penalty phase,” according to County Administrator Kyle Oldre. 

Bill Benson earns lifetime award

Luverne alumni Bill Benson earned a Lifetime Service Award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Minnesota Chapter.

Benson is among nine 2026 honorees who will be inducted at a banquet in Austin Saturday, April 25.

Luverne FFA teams compete in regionals, advance to state

Two teams from Luverne’s Future Farmers of America chapter will go on to the state competition after placing second and fifth in a Region IV Career Development Event in Jackson on March 9.
