The Luverne baseball team opened their 2025 season beating Pipestone 9-1 and Worthington 12-2 Thursday, April 3, at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls.

Conditions were cool and overcast with teams playing on all turf fields.

Two H-BC seniors, Beau Bakken and Sawyer Bosch,  received Red Rock Conference all-conference honorable mention recognition.

Both Patriots were a big part of the season for H-BC and their section basketball run.

The Patriots golf team traveled to take on Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Friday, April 4, for their first match of the season.

The H-BC boys’ team fell 176-193 to the Coyotes in 9-hole play.

The Luverne boys’ tennis team traveled Saturday, April 5, for a doubleheader against Yellow Medicine and Montevideo.

The Cardinals fell 7-0 in both meets, due in part to Luverne’s limited varsity experience this season.

The Luverne girls’ golf team traveled to Worthington Friday, April 4, for an 18-hole invitational of seven teams.

Teams invited were Murray County Central, Fairmont, Lakeview, Jackson County Central, Lac qui Parle Valley, Luverne, and the host team Worthington.

There are so many things I have done in my life where I was absolutely terrible. I had to try over and over until I got to the point of being recreationally proficient.
