When Al Hartz first applied for a job with the Rock County Highway Department in 1983, he could have hardly imagined it would be his career for more than 40 years.
Visitors to the Rock County History Center on Sunday were treated to performances that brought local history back into reality. The annual “Tales from the Grave” event featured stories of four notable residents in Rock County history.
As I enjoyed lunch with a friend, I suggested I might have a second biscuit when she (lovingly) pinched a bit of flubber on my waistline and said, “I think you’ve had enough biscuits.”
The body parts of Luverne’s giant nutcracker are slowly being assembled on the nutcracker’s base — at Those Blasted Things in Luverne. The arms were attached last week to the existing torso, boots, legs.
