The Luverne Cardinals posted a 3-3 record this past week in volleyball action.

LHS fell 3-0 to Redwood Valley at home Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The Cardinals went 2-2 at the Jackson Invitational Saturday, Sept. 19, and beat Edgerton 3-1 on the road Monday, Sept. 21.

The Adrian-Ellsworth Dragons football team stopped the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers 48-6 Friday, Sept. 18, on the road.

Dragons senior quarterback Charger Erlandson had a big night, rushing 166 total yards with four touchdowns against the Chargers.

The Luverne girls’ tennis team fell twice this past week, to Blue Earth and St. James.

“This week our tennis team faced off against two very solid teams,” LHS head coach Nathan Rud said. 

The 2026 fall trap season is underway for Luverne at the Rock County Sportsman’s Club.

Luverne High School has 21 students participating this fall.

The Luverne cross country team traveled to Rochester for the Mayo Invitational Thursday, Sept. 17, competing in five event races.

The LHS girls’ varsity 5,000-meter team placed sixth out of 17 teams.

The Adrian-Ellsworth cross country team traveled to Worthington for the Turkey Trot Thursday, Sept. 17, and to the Windom Eagle Invite Monday, Sept. 21.

A-E will travel to Jackson for the Tri for Health Meet Thursday, Sept. 24.

I spent some time over the past week preparing for my Pheasants Forever Chapter Veterans Appreciation Pheasant Hunt. There is lots to do and emails are flying in and out at a pretty fast clip.
