The H-BC girls’ basketball team won one game and lost two this past week.

The Patriots beat Red Rock Central 53-39 on the road Thursday, Jan. 25, and defeated George-Little Rock 52-49 at home Monday, Jan. 29.

The H-BC boys’ basketball team finished 2-1 for the past week, defeating RRC 59-47 on the road Thursday, Jan. 25, and Murray County Central at home Saturday, Jan. 27.

The Patriots fell to George-Little Rock 53-45 at home Monday, Jan. 29.

The Luverne boys’ basketball team fell to Pipestone in overtime 87-80 at home Tuesday, Jan. 23, lost to Redwood Valley 96-60 Friday, Jan. 26, on the road, and traveled to Edgerton, winning 75-61 Monday, Jan. 29.

The Blue Mound Figure Skaters hosted their 2024 Ice Crystal Classic competition Jan. 19-21 at the Blue Mound Ice Arena in Luverne.

Luverne music students, families and volunteers hosted their classic Winter Carnival Saturday night in the high school gym.

Friday’s celebration of the Hills Day Care Project allowed community members to tour the first-of-its-kind building and meet providers leasing space for family day care businesses.
