    The Luverne Cardinals volleyball team finished 4-2 this past week, taking on six solid squads along the way. LHS won 2-1 against the Blue Earth Area Buccaneers Tuesday, Sept. 30, at home.     The Cardinals girls’ tennis team fell 4-3 to Lac Qui Parle Valley Monday, Oct. 6, in a team sectional playoff game, crushing their hopes of extended team postseason play.     The Luverne cross country team hosted an eight team meet Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Luverne High School course west of the school. The LHS girls’ 5,000-meter varsity team finished in first place beating out four other teams in warm weather conditions. Luverne took first place with 46 total team points.     Micky Sehr recorded his second career hole-in-one Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Luverne Country Club. Both holes-in-one were dropped in on Hole 7 at LCC. His most recent hole-in-one went 146 yards off his 9-iron.     Luverne lost 20-16 to the Pipestone Arrows in the highly contested Battle Axe game Friday, Sept. 26, in Pipestone.
