To the Editor:
In response to the thumbs down to rising health insurance premiums and Rick Peterson's editorial on "Affordable health care is not so affordable," I would like to suggest the option to participate in a medical-sharing ministry.
Our family has been doing this for almost five years. For a family of 8, we pay $400 a month through Samaritan Ministries. You can research it yourself online at samaritanministries.org.
I realize this may not work for everyone, but it is worth checking out. Others in our community use this option as well. This approach satisfies the Affordable Care Act requirements.
