MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING OF 
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2184, 
ROCK COUNTY, LUVERNE, MINNESOTA.  
A special meeting of the Board of Education, ISD #2184, was held in the District Office August 19, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.
The following members were present: Katie Baustian, Jodi Bosch, Eric Hartman, Tim Jarchow, Reva Sehr, Jeff Stratton, and David Wrigg. Also present: Craig Oftedahl, Ryan Johnson, Becky Rahm, and Mavis Fodness – Rock County Star Herald.
Chairperson Eric Hartman called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Baustian, second by Sehr, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion unanimously carried.
Discussion was held regarding the suspension of gate fees for all Luverne students to attend all home school events. Motion made by Jarchow, second by Stratton, to remove gate fees for all students and to make available an adult individual season pass for $85.00. It was noted that Elementary students must be accompanied by an adult at all events. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Stratton, second by Jarchow, to approve the hiring of Tyler Reisch as Business Manager effective August 30, 2021, for a salary of $83,500.00. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Baustian, second by Sehr, to accept the resignation of Wes Jansen, Custodian, effective August 13, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Stratton, second by Sehr, to approve the hiring of Krista Ahrendt as B-squad Volleyball coach. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Jarchow, second by Stratton, to approve a request from Chris Nowatzki, Art teacher, for a medical leave of absence for 4 weeks beginning September 1, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Jarchow, second by Stratton, to approve the hiring of Epiphany Knedler as long-term substitute teacher for Chris Nowatzki for 4 weeks beginning September 1, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Baustian, second by Bosch, to approve the hiring of Brandi Johnson as Food Service Worker effective August 16, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Sehr, second by Bosch, to approve the hiring of Tonya Honermann as Food Service Worker effective August 16, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Bosch, second by Jarchow, to approve the hiring of Rebecca Dunn as Food Service Worker effective August 16, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Bosch, second by Stratton, to approve the hiring of Meegan Ross as ECFE/Discovery Time Paraprofessional, effective August 30, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Baustian, second by Jarchow, to approve the hiring of Eric Arnold as MS Girls Tennis Coach. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion made by Bosch, second by Stratton, to accept the resignation of Lacey Sik, Paraprofessional, effective August 6, 2021. Motion unanimously carried.
The upcoming meeting dates were reviewed. Motion made by Baustian, second by Jarchow, to adjourn the meeting. Motion unanimously carried.
