MINUTES OF SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING OF 
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2184, 
ROCK COUNTY, LUVERNE, MINNESOTA  
A special meeting of the Board of Education, ISD #2184, was held in the District Office on April 14, 2022, at 5:30 p.m.
The following members were present: Jodi Bosch, Eric Hartman, Tim Jarchow, Reva Sehr, Jeff Stratton, and David Wrigg. Absent: Katie Baustian. Also present:  Craig Oftedahl, Jason Phelps, Stacy Gillette, and Cory Schmuck.
Chairperson Eric Hartman opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion made Bosch, second by Jarchow, to approve the agenda as presented.  Motion unanimously carried.
Buildings and Grounds Supervisor Cory Schmuck provided information and results of the bids for Elementary playground equipment. These bids are for both the north and south playground areas.

Cory Schmuck recommended accepting the bid from Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground. Motion made by Jarchow, second by Sehr, to accept the bid from Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground for the GameTime Equipment. Motion unanimously carried.
Cory Schmuck also reviewed information with the School Board regarding the shower/changing rooms and laundry area being proposed for the Middle/High School basement. The School District is still waiting on estimated costs for this project. 
Elementary Principal Stacy Gillette reviewed information with the School Board regarding implementing a Junior Kindergarten class. This class would be for students who are turning 5 this summer who may need a little more reinforcement of social skills, fine motor skills, and Language Arts/Math concepts. We would not be adding any additional teaching staff as we are moving from 5 sections to 4 sections in First Grade for the next school year due to lower enrollment. Motion made by Bosch, second by Jarchow, to implement the Junior Kindergarten Class beginning this fall.  Motion unanimously carried.
The upcoming meeting dates were reviewed. Motion made by Bosch, second by Jarchow, to adjourn the meeting. Motion unanimously carried.
