Bob and Twila Kirsch of Hills spent the weekend of Oct. 14 in Riverside, Iowa, with Barry and Jane Kirsch. While there they made the acquaintance of Laina Ruby, their great-granddaughter. On Monday, Oct. 17, they stopped in Kasson and visited with Gerald and Rosemary Kraetsch.On Wednesday, Oct. 19, Bob and Twila entertained morning breakfast guests which included Floyd and Mary Kraetsch, Arlene Lee all of Luverne, and Doris Olson of Adrian. On Sunday, Oct. 23, Bob and Twila attended the special baptism of great-grandson Brenan Runge at Heron Lake. Congratulations on the new great-grandchildren, Twila and Bob! Chuck and Maxine Hanson of Austin spent from Sunday, Oct. 16, to Wednesday, Oct. 19, with Dorothy and Arnold Thorin of Hills. Sunday evening, other visitors to Dorothy and Arnold’s included Jerry and Deann Thorin, Todd and Deya Thorin and family, all of Sioux Falls. The evening of Tuesday, Oct. 18th, Arnold and Dorothy Thorin, Mickey (Maxine) and Chuck Hanson went to Sioux Falls and visited with Jerry and Deann Thorin.Betty Elbers of Hills attended the wedding of Josephine Feucht and Glenn Nelson at Pipestone’s Christ the King Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22. Lonnie Albers of Hills traveled to Roscoe, S.D., on Friday, Oct. 21, and stayed until Sunday, Oct. 23. He visited with his brother Terry, a deputy for Faulk County and Terry’s wife, Cheri, who owns a beauty salon in Aberdeen. Terry and Cheri own the Loyalton Lodge, and there were a number of uncles and cousins from Villard staying also to bring in the pheasant hunting season. They all had a very good time and got their limit each day.On Friday, Oct. 21, Kathryn and Wendell Erickson attended the lutefisk supper at Sioux Falls Nordic Hall with Cletus and Patty Nuffer. Friday through Sunday, Kathryn and Wendell’s son Major Charles Erickson and wife Naomi from Waconia spent the weekend in Hills. On Saturday, Oct. 22, Margaret Erickson from Worthington was able to come home to Hills and visit with her brother, Charles, and Naomi. On Sunday, Oct. 23, Dr. Kristin Erickson-Anderson of Sioux Falls came to Hills also and was able to visit with her brother, Charles, and Naomi.Sunday, Oct. 23, Marvin and June Albers of Hills entertained their 3-year-old great-grandson J.J. (Bubba) from Sioux Falls. J.J. spent the night and sister, Cheyenne Albers, 5 years old, spent the day Monday, Oct. 24, with great-grandma and great-grandpa. They kept grandma and grandpa hopping all dayOn Saturday evening, Oct. 22, Lois and Ray Nelson of Hills attended the musical performed by the Green Earth Players in Luverne, titled "Don’t Hug Me." The musical takes place in Minnesota during very cold weather. (This sounds familiar.) Lois stated that it was very enjoyable and a good evening. Edyth and Don Briggs of Hills traveled to Owatonna on Saturday, Oct. 15, where Don attended two Masonic meetings. They spent the night and enjoyed scenic Minnesota on Sunday, then returned home. On Monday, Oct. 17, they were joined for coffee by Keith and Marge Hellie of Detroit Lakes and Doris Blom of Luverne. Sunday, Oct. 23, Mae Top attended the 90th birthday party of her cousin, Kenneth Lutz, in Sioux Falls at Grace Lutheran Church. The party was hosted by Kenneth’s daughters, Joyce Rodman and Gloria Jacobson. Mae Top and Marie Soehl of Hills attended, as did Kenny and Rosie Sandstede. Mae said that there were relatives from all over who attended, California, Texas, etc. That evening Mae and Marie attended the birthday party for Kenneth’s wife, Francis, at one of the relative’s home. Francis celebrated her 81st birthday with a supper and party hosted by family. Mae had a very great day and was able to visit with a lot of relatives and they all enjoyed themselves immensely.
