For the first six months of 2005 lobbyists spent $1,164,586,968. on Congress and the executive branch.The big four were: health care $173 million, AARP $27 million to fight the above, $18 million U.S. Chamber of Commerce and $17 million for the law firm of Patton Boggs. Again, this is for six months.
