I read this article in Political Money Line. For the first six months of 2005 lobbyists spent $1,164,586,968. on Congress and the executive branch.The big four were: health care $173 million, AARP $27 million to fight the above, $18 million U.S. Chamber of Commerce and $17 million for the law firm of Patton Boggs. Again, this is for six months. Domestic spending is up 43 percent and we are spending more than a $100 billion a year in Iraq.Yes, indeed, as Mark Twain once said, "We have the best government money can buy."Leon PickLuverne
