I would like to express my thanks to the city of Luverne for adopting a tobacco-free park and recreational facility policy. I am impressed with their understanding of how this type of policy can help reduce youth tobacco use and protect the health of Luverne residents and visitors. The kids need every available asset for success. Changing social norms about the acceptability of tobacco use will not only benefit the youth of Luverne, but the community as a whole.
