Dragons take two of three on road

By John RittenhouseThe Adrian boys’ basketball team experienced a good week that featured the Dragons winning two of three games.The Dragons posted a five-point win over Round Lake-Brewster in Round Lake Thursday before besting Tri-Valley by 13 points near Hartford, S.D. Monday. Adrian’s three-game run of wins came to an end with a 19-point loss at Edgerton Public School Tuesday.Adrian, 4-8 overall, hosts Windom Saturday.Edgerton 62, Adrian 43The Flying Dutchmen controlled play from beginning to end during Tuesday’s 19-point home win over the Dragons.Edgerton doubled Adrian’s scoring output (32-16) in the first half and used a 30-27 scoring edge in the second half to win handily."We only made 27 percent of our shots in the first half, so we didn’t shoot very well. Edgerton was making layups," said EHS coach Chris Rozell.Brad Brake scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds for AHS. "We shot 52 percent in the first half, and we held them to 17 percent shooting."Ryan Lonneman and Stover, who led the Dragons with 18 and 13 points respectively, netted 12 and nine counters respectively in the decisive first half.Stover finished the game with eight assists and three steals. "We played a lot better defensively in the second half, and we got the ball inside offensively, scoring 28 of our 38 points in the paint."Lonneman (28 points and 11 rebounds) and Brake (24 points and 15 rebounds) registered double-doubles for the winners. Stover chipped in 14 points.
