Dragons prevail at Fulda Triangular

By John RittenhouseThe Adrian girls golf team improved its record to 11-5 after competing in a pair of events this week.The Dragons won a triangular meet in Fulda Monday before going 2-2 and placing third at the Lakeview Invitational in Cottonwood Tuesday.Adrian hosts Southwest United and Southwest Christian for a triangular today before entertaining Luverne Tuesday.Lakeview inviteThe Dragons finished in the middle of the pack during Tuesday’s five-team tournament in Cottonwood.Adrian shot a 417 to best Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (435) and Fulda (451). Lakeview (393) and Minneota (407) led the field.Jessica Loosbrock set the pace for AHS by carding a 98.Kelly Banck and Jenni McCaan shot respective 103- and 107-stroke rounds, while Kim Gades and Brittany Loosbrock carded 109s. Dawn Bullerman turned in a 113 without padding the scoring.Fulda’s Abby Oakland led all players with an 85.Fulda triangularThe Dragons emerged as the champions of Monday’s triangular in Fulda.Adrian used a 191-stroke effort to best Fulda (221) and Westbrook-Walnut Grove (264) during the event.Adrian’s Banck and McCaan led the team by shooting 10-over-par 46s.Jessica Loosbrock and Gades contributed 48- and 51-stroke efforts to the winning team tally. Bullerman and Brittany Loosbrock recorded 55- and 59-stroke rounds without influencing the scoring.Fulda’s Abby Oakland led all players with a 41. Stephanie Comnick carded a 56 to pace W-WG.
