County Commissioners meet Jan. 25

Rock County/City of Luverne Joint Meeting 7:00 P.M.Community Room/Rock County Human Services Bldg. January 25, 2005Chair Hoime called the meeting to order with Commissioners Wildung, Bakken and Boyenga present and Commissioner Jarchow absent. Purpose of the joint meeting was to discuss Resolution No. 04-05, a joint resolution of the County of Rock and the City of Luverne providing for the continuation of contracted Law Enforcement services and re-instating the Rock County Pool & Fitness Center contract. Motion by Bakken, seconded by Boyenga, to recess the joint meeting, declared carried on a voice vote. Motion by Wildung, seconded by Boyenga, to reconvene the County Board of Commissioners in a separate session, declared carried on a voice vote.Commissioners discussed recent Law Enforcement proposal and the impact it would have on the small cities. Other concerns were the type and number of activity reports, meeting the deadline of February 15th and the Liaison Committee procedure. Also, Commissioners expressed concerns about tying the Pool Agreement extension into Resolution No. 04-05. Following discussion, motion by Boyenga, seconded Bakken, to recess the separate session of the Rock County Board, declared carried on a voice vote.Motion by Wildung, seconded by Bakken, to reconvene the joint meeting, declared carried on a voice vote. Motion by Wildung, seconded by Bakken, to adopt Resolution 04-05; a roll call vote was taken with Commissioner Wildung, Bakken and Hoime voting aye and Commissioner Boyenga voting nay.
