The Luverne Redbirds moved their record to 5-1 on the season with victories over the Lakefield Horned Frogs and the Pipestone A’s last week.
The Redbirds are scheduled to play in Adrian Wednesday, June 3 and will host Tracy at Redbird Field June 10.
Luverne 5, Pipestone 2
The Redbirds continued their winning ways by earning their fifth consecutive win on Sunday while hosting Pipestone.
Andrew De Boer pitched the first eight innings for the home team and struck out seven Pipestone batters.
Skylar Wenninger came in for the save, facing just three batters in the ninth inning.
Wenninger also led the offense for Luverne, reaching base and scoring three times in the contest.
Joey Slieter was three for three at the plate, including a two-out single that scored two runners in the third inning.
Phil Paquette also batted in two runs for Luverne.

Luverne 8, Lakefield 5
The Redbirds ran their streak to four consecutive victories with a three-run win over the Horned Frogs May 27 in Luverne.
After falling behind 3-1 when Lakefield plated three runs in the top of the second inning, Luverne scored seven consecutive counters to open an 8-3 advantage to set the stage for victory.
Phillip Paquette, who tripled home Luverne’s first run in the game’s first inning, delivered a run-scoring single to ignite a four-run rally in the third that gave the Redbirds a 5-3 cushion.
Gunnar Olson added an RBI double, Josh Slieter an RBI single and Jared Pick received an RBI for a ground out during the third frame.
The Redbirds scored two runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth to make it 8-2 before Lakefield capped the scoring by scoring twice in the seventh.
James Fisher belted a home run and Pick recorded a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
Tony Sandbulte slapped an RBI single in the fifth.
Slieter worked the first six and one-third innings on the mound to earn the win. Brooks Mauer registered the next five outs before giving way to Skylar Wenninger, who fanned three batters in the ninth inning to record a save.
