Monday, June 24, 2024

The Hills-Beaver Creek School Board met for its semi-monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the H-BC School District Board room, 301 N Summit Ave, Hills, MN.

Board members and Administration present were Bosch, Gehrke, Harnack, Helgeson, Rauk, Rozeboom and Uittenbogaard. Superintendent Holthaus, Principal Kellenberger and Business Manager Rozeboom were also in attendance.

Motion by Helgeson, second by Harnack, and carried to approve the agenda.

Public Hearing to consider granting a proposed property tax abatement. Ended at 7:23 p.m.

-Resignation of Melanie Kruse Elementary Special Needs Teacher- effective

immediately.

Motion by Helgeson, second by Rauk, and carried to approve RESOLUTION STATING THE INTENTION OF THE SCHOOL BOARD TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BUILDING, FACILITIES MAINTENANCE AND TAX ABATEMENT BONDS, SERIES 2025A, IN THE AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF APPROXIMATELY $11,475,000; AND TAKING OTHER ACTIONS WITH RESPECT THERETO

Motion by Uittenbogaard, second by Harnack, and carried to approve RESOLUTION RELATING TO PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR PARKING LOT PROJECTS; GRANTING THE ABATEMENT

Motion by Bosch, second by Rozeboom, and carried to approve WorldBWF/Curriculum Advisory Committee Music Curricular Materials Proposal/Purchase and WBWF Report

Motion by Bosch, second by Helgeson, and carried to approve Resolution Establishing Dates for Filing Affidavits of Candidacy

Motion by Harnack, second by Uittenbogaard, and carried to approve Resolution ratifying membership with the MN State High School League for the 2024-2025 School Year and view MSHSL Partnership Video

Motion by Rauk, second by Helgeson, and carried to approve Donation Resolution:

•$1,000.00 from Security Savings Bank for Summer Speed Camp T-Shirts

•$70.00 from Blackbaud Giving Fund for Elementary Student Council

•$70.00 from Blackbaud Giving Fund for Secondary Student Council

Motion by Uittenbogaard, second by Bosch, and carried to approve the following Price Reductions (PR) for the Elementary School Construction Project as recommended by RA Morton Construction Managers and ATS & R Architects:

#2- Remove Pendant Lighting & Revise Corridor Lighting

#9- Casework and Window Sill Revisions

#11- Wall Tile Reductions, Wall Protection Reductions, and Flooring Revi-

sions 

#12- HM Frame & Aluminum Curtainwall Reductions

#15- Replace Glue Laminated Structure with Steel and Omit Skylights
