A memorial service for Ron Mulvihill, age 86, of West Point, Nebraska, was Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, Nebraska. Interment was in St. Michael’s Cemetery in West Point, Nebraska.
Ron passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at Providence Place of Fremont, Nebraska.
Ronald Lee Mulvihill was born on Aug. 2, 1938, in Luverne, Minnesota, to Leo and Minnie (Mulder) Mulvihill. Ron graduated from Luverne High School and worked for IBP plant.
On Sept. 28, 1968, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Anderson at Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. Ron worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington, for a short time. They relocated to West Point, Nebraska, in 1968 after Ron took a job at the new IBP plant there. Ron was employed with IBP until his retirement. He operated Mulvihill Siding for a number of years.
Ron was an avid bowler, enjoyed golfing and fishing trips to Minnesota. He was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. Ron loved spending time in his shop making things out of wood. Supporting his children and grandchildren in all their activities was a high priority, no matter the distance to go watch them compete, and was usually the first one there.
Survivors include wife Jeanne Mulvihill of West Point, Nebraska; daughters Jill and Mark Mallet of Bloomington, Nebraska, Missy and Jeff Hunke of Snyder, Nebraska, Lisa Mayer of Valley, Nebraska, Connie and Brian Berseth of Fridley, Minnesota, and Darcy Mulvihhill and Bryan Sandwick of Rogers, Minnesota; son Gregg (deceased) and Suzanne Boles Mulvihill; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Larry Mulvihill of Luverne, Minnesota, and David (Della) Mulvihill of Luverne, Minnesota; sisters Barb Priesz of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Joan (Angelo) Radiced of Colorado Springs Colorado.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Minnie Mulvihill, and son Gregg.
