He was baptized on October 5, 1986, and received his confirmation on April 29, 2001, both at Bethany Lutheran Church in Luverne. Orrie grew up south of Kanaranzi, Minnesota, until the family moved to Magnolia, Minnesota in 1999.

Growing up, Orrie loved hanging out with family and friends. He enjoyed riding 4-wheeler with his brothers and friends, playing paintball, and checking out the finds on junk days. Johnson Veterans’ Memorial Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 37 years, 9 months, and 9 days.
