Mary Ward passed away on May 19, 2026.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25, at Heritage Funeral Home followed by a lunch before burial in Pipestone, Minn.
She was born May 28, 1943, in Pipestone, Minn., to Wesley and Amy (Persinger) Ditmeyer . Mary attended country school District #25 and Pipestone High School. After graduating in 1961, she worked at Hyde Oil Company, Pipestone u n t i l h er marriage to Ronald Ward on Sept. 5, 1965. They lived and farmed near Beaver Creek, Minn., until moving to Sioux Falls, S. D. in 1992. She did clerical work in Sioux Falls since 1986; most recently at Wells Fargo Operations Center.
Survivors include two sons, Paul (Faye) Ward Baltic, S.D.; G l e n n Wa r d , Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter, Joann (John) Aasman, Aurora, Colo.; four grandsons, Christopher and Michael Ward, Jordan and Jesse Aasman; one granddaughter, Katelyn Aasman; one great granddaughter, Rylee Ward; one granddaughter, Emily Steinhouse; two great grandsons, Wrigley Ward and Bennett Wilson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; brother, Charles W. Ditmeyer; and her parents.
