Marvin Wesley Tinklenberg was born August 15, 1940, in Leota, to Ed and Martha (Kallemeyn) Tinklenberg. He attended Leota Christian School through the eighth grade and earned a high school diploma by mail.

Marvin married Verla Jean Ruiter on June 21, 1962, at the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. After their marriage, the couple lived in Leota. Marvin worked for his father at Tinklenberg & Mouw House Moving. For a short time he also worked at A.R. Wood Manufacturing in Luverne.

After his father’s passing he purchased his share in the house moving business. He later worked for Klarenbeek & Son Rendering driving truck.

He was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially going to Okoboji every Labor Day weekend for 36 years. Marv also enjoyed attending car shows and cruising in his 1957 Ford that he restored.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Verla Tinklenberg, Leota; two daughters, Lora (Lon) Anker, Leota, and Vonda (Dennis) Klarenbeek, Luverne; four grandchildren, Leanne (Justin) Maciejack, Landon Anker, Devin (Alexis) Klarenbeek and Tessa (Mitchell) Lambert; four great-grandchildren, Rayce Maciejack, Raigen Klarenbeek, Brynnley Klarenbeek, and Decker Klarenbeek; and a sister, Jennie Anderson, Luverne.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary and Simon Tinklenberg, a sister, Joann Tinklenberg; brother-in-law Ray Anderson; sister-in-law Donna Bouwer; and a niece, Karla Van Kooten, and her two children.

Marvin passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at the age of 84. Visitation was 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Bethel Reformed Church in Leota. Burial will be in the Leota Community Cemetery.

The Leota Burial Association and the Dingmann Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
