Lori Van Conant age 61 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Steen, Minnesota, passed away on June 18, 2024, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Celebration of Life was at 2 p.m., Friday, June 21, at Jurrens Funeral Home in Hills, Minnesota, with Pastor Kent Stillson officiating.

Lori Teresa Van Conant was born May 25, 1963, in Grand Rapids, Wisconsin. At one year of age, she was adopted by Henry and Lucy (Van Wettering) Van Wyhe. She joined her new family near Steen, Minnesota, on their family farm. She graduated from West Lyon High School in 1982 and continued her education at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. She then enrolled at Stewart’s School of Cosmetology in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She worked as a hairdresser for a brief time, before managing Pizza Ranch locations in Clarian, Iowa, and Ida Grove, Iowa. In 1997, she moved back to Steen, Minnesota, and began working at CCC Information in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. While working there she met her husband to be, Todd Van Conant. She was united in marriage on December 17, 2000, at Steen Reformed Church. Lori and Todd made their home in Sioux Falls, while she worked various places, until she became disabled in 2005.

Lori enjoyed making flower arrangements, playing organ at Steen Reformed Church and singing with a ladies group called “Sonshine”. She loved Gospel music, especially the Gaither’s.

She was survived by her husband Todd Van Conant and their daughter, Gennielle Van Conant, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; her mother, Lucy Van Wyhe of Hills, Minnesota; two brothers, Lesley (Leigh) Van Wyhe of Hills, Minnesota, and Lee (Connie) Van Wyhe of Springfield, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by father, Henry Van Wyhe.
