LeRoy Schroeder, age 82 of Beaver Creek, Minn., passed away Friday, May 29, 2026, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. 

A funeral service took place at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, at First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Creek with Pastors Mari Rogers and Dallas Johnson, officiating. Livestream of Funeral Service.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 1, from at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Creek. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Avera Breast Center - Prairie Center in Sioux Falls. 

LeRoy Richard Schroeder was born Sept. 15, 1943, to Calvin and Helen (Harding) Schroeder. 

He grew up on a farm close to Beaver Creek. He served in the military until he was honorably discharged due to his father’s death. 

LeRoy was united in marriage to Rose Abbink, July 31, 1971. Their marriage blessed them with two children, Les and Lisa. Rose passed away in 2006. 

He was united in marriage to Cathy Meyer. February 26, 2011. 

In the past, LeRoy worked for Wal-Mart East, and was the Adrian Rest Area manager for 13 years before his retirement. 

LeRoy was very passionate about his woodworking hobby. He created many wonderful things over the years. He was a friend to many and always giving people a hard time. He liked collecting old antiques and he and Cathy spent much time at auction sales. He adored his grandchildren and was proud of all their accomplishments. 

He is survived by his wife Cathy, his children Les Schroeder, Lisa (Tim) Kauk, Cathy’s son Jason (Caitlin) which Leroy treated like another son; Dale and Brenda; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Rose and his granddaughter Riley. 

Leroy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Jurrens Funeral Home in Hills, Minn.
