Harold Floyd Kruger, age 85, of Beaver Creek, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
He was born Sept. 7, 1939, in Adrian, to Pete and Lena (Graves) Kruger. He attended District #11 country school.
Harold married DeLoris Deutsch on Sept. 15, 1958, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. The couple lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Harold worked as a mechanic at K-Mart. In 1964 they moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where Harold worked at Chamberlain
Manufacturing. The family moved to Beaver Creek in 1969. Harold worked as a building contractor and started his own business, Kruger Construction.
Harold was passionate about his craft. He enjoyed designing and building. He could look at any space and see the possibilities. Harold was notorious for his photo wave and big smile.
He loved being a grandpa, enjoyed his dogs, music, dancing, traveling and especially attending his kids’ sporting events, never missing a game.
Harold is survived by his wife, DeLoris Kruger, Beaver Creek; four children, Durant Kruger, Steen, Shawna Kruger, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kiana (Joe) Johnson, Primghar, Iowa, and Shad (Leilani) Kruger, Beaver Creek; daughter-in-law Tina Kruger, Las Vegas, Nevada; 12 grandchildren, Troy Kruger, Amy Combs, Jesse (Lindsey) Kruger, Nico (Ally) Gonzalez, Tatiana (Stephen Phillips) Gonzalez, Sean Harold Gonzalez, Alivia (Kevin) Grothaus, Sam (Shelby) Johnson, Sutton Johnson, Tahliya Kruger, Bode Kruger, and Kenzie Kruger; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Loger, Adrian; and a sister-in-law, Marie Kruger, Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his son Daniel Harold, parents Pete and Lena, brother Martin, and sisters Mary and Lois.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
