Gary D. Brandt, age 63, of Beaver Creek, Minnesota, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on May 8, 2024, at Avera Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A Celebration of Life was from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Take 16 in Luverne, Minnesota. Casual attire was encouraged.

Gary Dennis Brandt was born on March 23, 1961, in Luverne, Minnesota, to Boyd and Alice Brandt. He attended school at Hills-Beaver Creek. This is where Gary met his wife, Nancy. They dated on and off through high school and later married on March 15, 1980. Gary and Nancy moved to Beaver Creek after marriage and raised their family there for 40-plus years. They have three children, Nikki, Kristi, and Justin.
After graduating high school, Gary worked at Miller Structures in Renner, South Dakota. He shortly became the lead foreman there. After Miller Structures, he worked various odd jobs which included concrete work. Gary retired in 2008 after he suffered a stroke.
Gary was hardworking and was always willing to help others with odd jobs for family and friends. He had a knack for working with his hands. Gary enjoyed various hobbies which included hunting and the occasional casino visit with his wife, Nancy, and his brother Dave. On any given day, you could drive by their place in Beaver Creek and see them both sitting out in the driveway in their lawn chairs throwing a wave to neighbors that drive by. He had a quiet demeanor, but you could tell that he was happiest with his friends and family.
Gary lost his battle to cancer on May 8, 2024, and will be lovingly remembered in death by his wife, Nancy Brandt of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; three children, Nikki (Mike Pederson) Verba of Luverne, Minnesota, Kristi Brandt of Luverne, Minnesota, and Justin (Ashleigh) Brandt of Dell Rapids, South Dakota; mother, Alice Brandt of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Bailey, Brayden, Zane, Macoy, Holdyn, and Langstyn; his brothers, Keith (Marlys) Brandt of Luverne, Minnesota, and Dave Brandt of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; his sister, Lori (Mike) Carlson of Beaver Creek, Minnesota; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Boyd Brandt; son-in-law, Mark Verba; and his nephew, Travis Monrad.
