Carole Ann Hemme passed Sunday, March 16, 2025, from cancer, surrounded by family, at Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center/Arlington at age 74.

Carole is survived by husband Gordon Hemme; brother Ronald Bowman; sister-in-law Jayona Bowman; children Jason, Jacalyn, Jana and Jessica Dunham; grandchildren Zane Raiche, Zuri, Derek, Deyla, Kaia and Nevaya Dunham; stepchildren Troy/Wendy Hemme and Chad Hemme; stepgrandchildren Silas and Sawyer; and in-laws, Glenn/Glatha Hemme, Gary/Susan Hemme, Ralph/Lynnette Wacker; and many nephews, cousins and friends.

Carole was born May 1, 1950, to Victor and Marie Bowman in Luverne and older brothers Ronald and Ardell. Carole attended Luverne schools and graduated in 1968.

Carole married Robert Dunham in 1969 and lived in Luverne where she had Jason and Jacalyn Dunham. They moved to Akeley in 1976 and had Jana and Jessica Dunham. They divorced in 1987.

In 1995 Carole reunited with Gordon, a high school friend. On July 29, 1995, Carole and Gordon married and moved to Prior Lake where Gordon resided. Carole worked for various temp services before joining with Beckman Coulter in Chaska until she retired in 2012 at the age of 62. When Gordon retired, they moved to Arlington. 

A celebration of Carole’s life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on Tuesday April 29, 2025, at 814 W. Brooks Street, Arlington, Minnesota 55307. Memorial visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m., service from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., followed by lunch. Officiating Pastor Gretchen Pierskalla. Cremation by Cremation Society of Minnesota. Final resting will be at Akeley Cemetery at a later date.
