Alvina Wigen, age 72, of Hendricks, Minnesota, formerly of Luverne, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks, Minnesota. A private burial will be held. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel in Hendricks, Minneosta, and will resume Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alvina (Viney) Ann Wigen was born on November 25, 1951, in Gary, South Dakota, to Clifford and Helen (Hansen) Hunt. She graduated from Milroy High School, Milroy, Minnesota in 1969.
In 1983 she was united in marriage to Martin Wigen. They moved to Martin’s family farm near Hendricks, where they resided until 1996 when they moved into Hendricks. In 2001 they moved to Luverne.
Viney entered the Hendricks Nursing Home in November 2022 and passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2024, at the age of 72.
Viney graduated from Lake Area Vo-Tech in 1989 with her Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at the Hendricks Nursing Home for 17 years, the Veterans Home, Sanford Home Care and Hospice Cottage in Luverne for many years. She enjoyed all of her patients and took pride in providing the best care for them. Viney enjoyed deer hunting with their friends and fishing with Marty. She also loved playing softball and adored kids of all ages.
Viney is survived by her loving husband, Martin, of Luverne, Minnesota; daughter Kim (Alan) Maag of Florence, Arizona; son Terry (Kelly) Kaiser Borning of Gilbert, Arizona; daughter Julie (Matthew) Oien of Freeman, South Dakota; grandchildren Ashleigh (Taylor) Larson, Garett Maag, Hunter Schroeder, Freya Maag, Trevor Kaiser Borning, Stephanie Kaiser Borning; great-grandson Tate Larson; and brother James (Rose) Hunt of Slayton, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Helen Hunt; infant brother Gary Lee Hunt; sister Jolene Hunt; grandsons AJ Maag and Matthew Martin Wayne Oien.
