The Star Herald asked candidates facing a primary election on Aug. 9 five questions to inform readers about themselves.
The five questions are:
1.) Community involvement
2.) Employment, education and family
3.) What made you decide to seek election/reelection to the County Board of Commissioners?
4.) How do you view the role of a commissioner in your community?
5.) What makes you the best candidate for the job?
Mike Davis lives in Luverne and is running for the open District 1 County Commission seat.
1.) I am currently involved with the Convention and Visitors Bureau, campground committee, the Luverne Loop, Magnolia township supervisor, and The Southwest Regional Development Committee. I also attended Blandin Leadership Training last year.
2.) I have a Tree Removal business with my family. My wife is Traci Davis and we have three boys.
3.) I spend my time in and around the community and receive input from the people. I thought by running for county commissioner I could help with the information that I am receiving from people.
4.) I think the role of a county commissioner is a very detailed position that involves more than just roads and bridges but also people's needs.
5.) I believe that I am the best candidate for county commissioner because I am in and around the community a lot and hear people's issues. I am willing to stand up for people if it suits the whole community.
