Significant snowfall blanketed Rock County Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 10, with up to 8 inches in some places over a 24-hour period, according to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls. By mid-afternoon on Tuesday, roadways were snow-covered and slick from the heavy snowfall, but by Wednesday, Nov. 11, clouds cleared the area leaving Veterans Day with partly sunny skies. A week later the majority of the snowfall melted due to temperatures reaching into the 40s.
