The Hardwick community hosted a ribbon-cutting celebration Saturday morning for the opening of the new gas pumps along County Road 7 in Hardwick.
Chandler Coop recently purchased the pumps from the city of Hardwick and invested in new equipment and property updates that were recently completed.
Hardwick city clerk Tammy Johnson thanked the company for investing in the community.
“They have built a strong reputation in this area,” she said. “So, we are over the moon excited that they’re willing to make this investment in our town.”
Brandon Lane of Sioux Valley Energy was on hand for the event.
“That’s the cooperative way – investing your community,” he said. “I’m just happy to be here to celebrate with Hardwick.”
Chandler Coop General Manager Jeff Einck said the company is proud to be part of the Hardwick community.
“Chandler Coop was interested as we provide ag inputs and energy services needed in our local communities and Hardwick is in the circle of customers that are our patrons,” he said.
He also recognized the companies involved in the project.
They included Westmor Industries, Sas Farms (for the removal of old cement), Landon Hazelton at H-Cut Tree Service for the tree removal, Hawes ALL Construction for pouring the new cement and McClure Electric for the electrical work.
“Their timeliness was a key to getting this project up and running so quickly,” Einck said.
Rock County Administrator Kyle Oldre said the project will be good for the city and surrounding area.
Congratulations to Chandler Coop and thanks to them for their investment in the community,” Oldre said.
“It’s great to have the service available for residents here as well as all the folks that are traveling through – ag community included.”
