The Luverne softball team moves on to the Section 3AA semifinals after knocking off Pipestone 7-5 Thursday, May 23, at home and outscoring Morris 2-1 Saturday, May 25, in Marshall.

LHS, H-BC track and field teams race past competition at Section 3A Sub Sections in Slayton

The Luverne and Hills-Beaver Creek track and field teams gave the Section 3A South Sub Section meet a one-two punch Thursday, May 23.

At the meet in Slayton the Luverne boys’ and girls’ teams finished in first place and the H-BC boys’ and girls’ teams placed second.

Cardinal boys’ golf team moves on, Smith and Bloemendaal advance for the girls

The Luverne boys’ golf team took fourth place in team sections Thursday, May 23, in Buffalo Lake.

The team and individual players are now headed to the second day of competition Wednesday, May 29, back at Buffalo Lake.

Redbirds calm Tea Storm in 12-2 win at Redbird Field

The Luverne Redbirds calmed the Tea Storm, beating them 12-2 Friday, May 24, at home.

The Redbirds scored first, putting two runs on the board in the bottom of the second inning.

Carly Olson named to MIAC all-conference team

Luverne native Carly Olson was named to the 2024 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) All-Conference team.

Cardinals secure No. 1 seed in baseball sections

The Luverne boys’ baseball team had the rest of this week off after beating Adrian 3-0 on Monday, May 20, on the road.

The Cardinals secured the No. 1 seed and have a bye in the first week of section play.
