Star Herald issues corrections for hockey information

Due to incorrect information shared with the Star Herald, there were errors in the Star Herald Winter Sports Preview and in the Dec. 7 story about the Nov. 30 boys’ hockey game.

The Luverne boys’ hockey team improved its record to 4-0 after beating New Ulm 6-1 Friday, Dec. 8, at the Blue Mound Ice Arena in Luverne.

The Cardinals opened the game scoring at 4:30 in the first period.

LHS girls’ basketball beats Arrows 74-48

The Luverne girls’ basketball team traveled to Pipestone Friday, Dec. 8, beating the Arrows 74-48.

“We didn’t start the game well. Picking up fouls and losing girls in transition led to the Arrows getting easy layups,” head coach TJ Newgard said.

Luverne boys’ basketball team falls to Pipestone 86-65

The Luverne boys’ basketball team traveled to Pipestone Friday, Dec. 8, falling 86-65 to the Arrows.

“I was happy with our effort once again,” head coach John Sichmeller said.
