Girls’ basketball team falls to Jackson and Redwood

The Luverne girls’ basketball team lost two home games this past week.

The Cardinals fell 71-61 to Jackson County Central Dec. 12 and 59-25 to Redwood Valley Dec. 15.

Luverne is scheduled to host H-BC Tuesday, Dec. 19 and Windom on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

 

Patriot boys’ basketball team posts two wins, one loss

The Patriots posted two wins and one loss this past week in boys’ basketball action.

H-BC beat Murray County Central 69-64 Dec. 12 on the road, took down Red Rock Central at home 71-41, and fell to Central Lyon in Rock Rapids 74-46.

H-BC girls’ basketball team beats HLOF, falls to Central Lyon

The Patriot girls’ basketball team went 1-1 this past week, beating HLOF 63-12 on Dec. 14 and falling to Central Lyon 53-42 on Dec. 16, both games on the road.

H-BC was scheduled to take on the Cardinals in Luverne Tuesday, Dec. 19 and host Westbrook Walnut Grove Thursday, Dec. 21.

Luverne gymnasts upend Arrows on the road

The Luverne gymnasts traveled to Pipestone Tuesday, Dec. 12, and flipped over the Arrows for a team win.

The Cardinals posted a 127.1750 to 126.8750 combined team win over the Arrows.

“I’m continually impressed with how hard the girls are working,” head coach Phoebe Flom said.

It all happened before my eyes

When is the last time someone did something really impressive and you had more fun watching than if you had done that impressive thing yourself?  It happens to me all the time in the outdoors.

National Guard, community celebrate Readiness Center opening

The Minnesota National Guard’s newest readiness center officially opened its doors Saturday morning for a public ribbon-cutting and community tours.
